In May Jonathan Kang will be ordained at St. James Cathedral and in June we welcome him as Curate! How exciting!
Born in Korea, Jonathan grew up in Singapore before studying and working in the U.K., Vancouver, Boston, New York, Seattle, Seoul, and northern Montana. While English is by far his best language, he is a native speaker of Korean and fluent in Mandarin.
Jonathan’s family emigrated to Canada in the early 1990s, and he is grateful to be living and serving in the country of his citizenship after many years abroad. As a former “third-culture kid” and a three-time immigrant, Jonathan is delighted to be in the diverse, multicultural city of Toronto.
He was raised in the Presbyterian church, and embraced the Anglican church while living in the U.K. He has been working and volunteering at several different missionary organizations and churches, both Anglican and inter-denominational, for a number of years.
Most recently, he was a lay pastoral associate at the Church of St. Timothy in North Toronto. Jonathan’s passion is to help others encounter the canon of Scripture for themselves as the Word of the living God, and to see their lives and the world through the lens of Scripture.
Welcome!
