Music

Sounds of Holy Trinity

Holy Trinity, Thornhill, is a very musical parish and we are blessed with a very talented Director of Music. In fact, music is one of the defining characteristics of worship at Holy Trinity. We have a 15 member soprano-alto-tenor-bass choir every Sunday from Labour Day through mid-June. We also have a fledgling junior choir which was started in 2017!

Our congregation loves to sing and worship hymns vary from traditional to contemporary to spirituals. The choir regularly presents a wide variety of anthems from Bach to Jazz during worship. All music is planned with the lectionary to fit as well as possible with the theme of the readings.

Special seasonal music is presented during Advent and Easter either as a Lessons and Carols or Cantata service. Instruments accompany these services. We have hosted the former York Regional Cantabile Chorale, Trinity Unplugged, Tim Elliot’s Jazz Mass, Father Mark Curtis, Award Winning Gospel Soloist Jackie Richardson, Shaina Sammone, and several groups either during a service or for a special musical presentation
