Church School and Youth Program at Holy Trinity

Holy Trinity Church School & Youth Programs run from the first Sunday following Labour Day in September to the following June.  Children of grades 1 to 8 are in the KIDZ group, YOUTH are of high school age to possibly mid-twenties.  Babies and preschoolers are in the Nursery.  Judith Sinclair is the Church School Coordinator and can be contacted at 905-889-5931 ext. 30.

REGISTRATION

Church School and Youth Program Registration takes place the first Sunday after Labour Day, unless a family joins us during the year.  Information package is always on the bulletin board beside Room A in the lower hall. Help yourself and come join us for worship, fun and fellowship!  Registration forms need to be brought to the first class.  Visitors & friends are welcome any time!

Holy Trinity KIDZ

This group meets in Room A (lower-hall). The program begins each Sunday morning with a Worship Circle .  Members gather together for a small worship service, around our mini altar, with candles, music and bibles.  We sing, pray, and listen to a bible story, followed by worship music, and discussion of how we apply God’s Word to our lives.  Then we respond to this message by breaking into smaller groups for age and interest appropriate activities, such as: art, crafts, writing, reading, games, dance, puppetry, drama, music, and other fun activities.

Afterwards, the children join their families in church, in time to receive the Eucharist. Following the church service, there is usually “coffee hour “in the auditorium, when there is time for fellowship.  Here the children can enjoy juice and cookies, etc. with their friends and families.

YOUTH

YOUTH of High School age, up to about 25 years, plus.friends and visitors are always welcome!

In order to meet the needs of today’s Youth, we are associating with other Christian churches in our area.  As a larger group we will have more resources to share and opportunities for fellowship, activities and worship!  We will continue meeting in our Holy Trinity small group with time and day to be arranged.  Parents may be asked occasionally to help drive or supervise an activity.

Communication about Youth gatherings will be mostly through email and FACEBOOK.  Our parish FACEBOOK Page is “Holy Trinity Thornhill-Youth”.  It is important that the Youth also register with Judith Sinclair, in order to have all pertinent information on file for safety and communication.  Registration packages are always on the bulletin board beside Room A.

NURSERY

We have a very inviting Nursery room (Room B).  This is a bright, welcoming place, with the Noah’s Ark images.  We have many toys, books, videos, and puzzles to teach and amuse our younger members, even a crib for a baby. All toddlers and preschoolers are welcome!

If you are bringing a child to the Nursery during 10:00 service, and no one is there to help supervise, please do come into room A to see Judith and we’ll try to be of service to you.

Young ones are also welcome upstairs in Church, where we have stuffed animals, books and paper with crayons for busy little hands. These are located in the extra wide pew at the rear, on the right side.

OUR FOSTER CHILD

The Church School continues to sponsor a youth in Ghana , West Africa , through the Christian Children’s Fund, as part of our Outreach Ministry. Our current foster child is Tia Abdulai. For more information on Tia, his family or his village, check out our bulletin board near room A. The children offerings are put towards the cost of helping Tia and his family annually.
